Tommy Lasorda is one of the most successful managers in baseball history, a Hall of Famer who led the Dodgers to eight division titles and two world championships in twenty seasons as manager. He also managed the United States to its first-ever gold medal in baseball at the 2000 Olympics. Lasorda currently serves as executive senior vice president for the Dodgers. He lectures around the world, promoting baseball.

Bill Plaschke has been a sports columnist at the Los Angeles Times since 1996 and is a regular panelist on ESPN's Around the Horn. His work has been featured frequently in The Best American Sports Writing.
